Beatrice Lillie

The comédienne who will star "The Third Little Show" is photographed in her recent skating act at the Palace

Beatrice Lillie holds up to ridicule all those ladies who attempt to be just a bit more elegant than they can successfully be, and she has perhaps had a wider influence (what with all the debutantes and dowagers who have been going about in that refined falsetto accompanied by a swinging salute of the forefinger) than any comedienne of her day.

Miss Lillie uses a conventional, heavy and unbecoming make-up on the stage and is much more charming looking off; the busy, jaunty walk that is peculiar to her is only slightly exaggerated on the stage. She has an endless repertoire of impersonations and is happy to run through them all day and all night with just a little persuasion from appreciative friends.

Miss Lillie's husband, Sir Robert Peel, owns and personally conducts a jazz band which plays on the radio in London.
