MARDI GRAS
Mardi Gras, 1934—New Orleans' world famous festive celebration—is February 9th to 13th! Started by the thoughtless frolic of a small hand of young Creoles in old New Orleans over a century ago, it promises this year to more than live up to its glamourous past. Throughout the winter, the New Orleans social season ascends to the climax of Mardi Gras night, when, with the tolling of the chimes of the 150-year-old St. Louis Cathedral, it crashes with a solemn, dull thud at midnight.
SOCIETY RODEO
Thai modernized adage, "There's nothing new under the Miami resort sun", will go into the discard in February when the colony will "whoop it up" with a society rodeo—
one of the high-lights of tile second annual Miami Biltmore National Horse Show, February 17lh to 21st.
Already a long entry list forecasts an impressive gathering of equine aristocracy for the event, which will assume an added social importance with a Horse Show Ball at the Miami Biltmore Country Club, February 22nd, climaxing a week of festivities.
LA FIESTA
Tucson's 10th Annual "Fiesta de los Vaqueros"—the great Mid-wintei Rodeo—has a new and unique feature this year. One of the four days of the rodeo, held from February 22nd through the 25th, will be in the form of an "Indian Day", which will he turned over entirely to entertainment features by Indian tribes of Arizona, of which there arc nearly a dozen prominent ones. Tucson hotels are preparing for the great gathering of Fiesta guests from all over the United States and Canada.
