It juxtaposes two social sets, Larry Fink's new book,Social Graces(Aperture): New York City socialites (MoMA benefits, the Hungarian Debutante Balls, Studio 54) and the social events of Martins Creek, Pennsylvania (New Year's at the American Legion, Pat Sabatine's birthday party). The similarities are what's interesting: the bow ties and empty glasses in the pictures above, and the faces—excited, tipsy, human.
