Dance, two different drummers
The surprise hit of last year's Next Wave Festival at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, the twenty-seven-yearold Belgian choreographer Anna Teresa De Keersmaeker returns this month with Elena's Aria, a dark, difficult work performed to the whirring of a projector showing footage of buildings in mid-collapse, BAM'S notoriously fickle audience might not react as favorably this time, but De Keersmaeker's signal of seriousness could well herald another wave of Euro-dance coming across the Atlantic.
