In the matter of life imitating art imitating life, ' 'Milestones: 50 Years of Goods and Services' ' opens this month at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York (9/23-1/4). The exhibition could never have occurred without the advent of pop artwithout products presented in and through art. Hence, Andy Warhol's list of the best objects and images in the show: Frozen TV dinners: They were my favorite thing when I was little, and now with the atomic scare they're what everybody's buying.

Television: The best part about it is you can always shut it off. You can't pull the plug on your wife.

Detergents: I love the words—like "Fab."

Credit cards: Plastic's better than dirty, used money.

Fast food: You're always sure of getting the same taste wherever you are.

Latex paint: I couldn't live without it.

Scotch tape: If it weren't for this, how could you get any work done?

Refrigerators: Frozen TV dinners and refrigerators—they go together. —ANDY WARHOL
