Vadukul Verve

Their company, Spring Heel Jack, was named for a spaceman they say landed in England in 1857. And the Vadukul brothers, Max, twenty-seven, and Nit in, twenty-two—Anglo-Indian photographers based in London—bring an appropriately extraterrestrial eye to all they survey. Their portraits, print ads, and commercials, wired with off-center wit, demand double takes. They first showed together in Paris last fall in a presentation highlighted by their own "song and dance" act, which they hope to repeat in New York this summer. "We love America," says Max {above, left). "Things are just packed in with no sense of history."
