Lynch Spin
Eddie Murphy's family is wrapped up in a new rap act, K-9 Posse. Contributing to its eponymous debut album are three of Murphy's relations: brother Charlie Murphy produces, stepdad Vernon Lynch Sr. manages, and half-brother Vernon "V.A.S." (for Versatile in Any Style) Lynch is the lead rapper (on the Nile Rodgers-produced track, "Somebody's Brother," he sings, "I don't mind workin' undercover; it's a blessin' not a curse to be somebody's brother"). Vernon and fellow Possemen Wardell "Dubip" Mahone and Terrence "Pookie the Butcher" Sheppard are now on a highschool mini-tour. The K-9 Posse rap: anti-violence, anti-drugs, and, above all, as their lyric says, don't sell out, "even for a million."
