Now that Nicky Haslam, London society's favorite decorator, has taken to slopping around town in the kilim slippers he's designed, everyone in the city wants a pair. Haslam, ever restless at 53. is working on his long-awaited autobiography, to be published later this year. It will be a whirl through three decades of hobnobbing with {and throwing parties for) royalty and rock stars. "But l won't be indiscreet. " he promises. "I want to make people laugh, not hurt them. " Beautiful people on both sides of the Atlantic can sleep soundly.
