DO YOU HAVE DIFFERENT SCENT PREFERENCES SINCE MOVING TO L.A.? My fragrance choices always tend toward floral nd fruity; however, since moving to Los Angeles I seem to be favoring lighter scents. But not too light—a quality fragrance should have some weight to it. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT THE FRAGRANCE NOTES IN BECKHAM SIGNATURE FOR HER? It has notes of candy apple, anise flower, orchid, amber, and patchouli. The candy apple gives it a touch of sweetness that I just love, HOW IS THIS FRAGRANCE DIFFERENT FROM YOUR LAST ONE, INTIMATELY BECKHAM? Signature's top note is orchid; Intimately Beckham's key floral note was tuberose. Signature is slightly lighter, but still maintains a solid foundation of floral and fruity scents, WHAT ARE THE KEY NOTES IN SIGNATURE FOR HIM? Watermelon, cypress, white amber, and patchouli. It's very masculine, very David, but it also pairs perfectly with the women's fragrance, WAS DAVID BECKHAM INVOLVED IN PICKING OUT THE ELEMENTS THAT WENT INTO HIS FRAGRANCE? David was involved in everything from creating the fragrance to selecting the packaging. I provided some direction for Signature men's as well. And we always test our fragrances on each other until we find the perfect mix. DOES THE FRAGRANCE ELICIT ANY SORT OF EMOTION OR FEELING? Confidence. The orchid is the key floral scent in Signature for Her. They're both delicate and strong. Not unlike many women I know! YOUR NEW AD CAMPAIGN, WHICH LAUNCHES NEXT MONTH, WAS SHOT BY MERT & MARCUS, TWO OF THE MOST SOUGHT-AFTER FASHION PHOTOGRAPHERS. WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH THEM? Their combined eye and talent is extraordinary, and to work with two of the most influential photographers is an honor. It's fascinating to watch them share a camera and a vision.
