Labor strikes may have dulled the Hollywood firmament this autumn, but the 80th Venice International Film Festival shone as bright as ever as actors and legends gathered to celebrate Giorgio Armani’s first show in the floating city. “Venice means extraordinary atmosphere, history, romance,” Armani says. “It is incredibly beautiful; everywhere you look captivates.” For his One Night Only Venezia event, the 89-year-old designer took over the imposing Arsenale and mounted a runway show inspired by his love of the city. VF and friends were there to mark the moment.
