After the opening night of "The Garrick Gaieties", some five years ago, Betty Starbuck found herself, like her fellow-players, abruptly famous—a definite note of colour in that kaleidoscope of laughter and luck which is the American theatre. In "Peggy Ann", "Chi-Chi" and "Hello Daddy" she has since proved herself to be a dependable person to have in any musical comedy; and her cool humour and animation are presently contributing no small share to that tuneful depiction of piracy and pathos, "Heads Up"
