Everyone was very happy at these two tables at the fashionable II Cantinori in unfashionable Greenwich Village. Elizabeth Hardwick, a founder of The New York Review of Books, had just been given one of Mayor Koch’s Awards of Honor for Art and Culture. Rea Hederman, the Review’s new owner, treated Hardwick and pals to spaghetti alia letteratura (a recipe swiped from Elaine’s?).
