AUDREY HEPBURN 1929-1993

One look at the face of Audrey Hepburn and you knew that once, in the glow of a camera lens, God made one of the ultimate impressions on earth, as perfect as a peony. She epitomized grace, elegance, and the generosity of spirit for which marquees light up. Whether she wore Givenchy or jeans, her art was more than arithmetic. Behind her radiance was a purity of heart that extended from the arms of Astaire to the babies of Bangladesh. The word she used most often to describe herself was "lucky." But there was more. She had a kind of indefinable magic. It had something to do with style and understanding and an unerring taste for quality. So vast was her charm that when she played Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's a dozen glamour girls came out of hiding, proudly claiming to be the role model. They say she's gone now, but I don't have to believe it if I don't want to. Somewhere beyond the blue, I'm willing to bet, she's enchanting the ANGELS.
