Brett Brooks, the 34-year-old owner of the new music station at the Ron Herman Melrose store in the Fred Segal complex in L.A., mixes compilation CDs for stores and private clients around the world. Customers can listen to Brooks's selections on iPods that have been secured into the store's walls, and are welcome to purchase any of the CDs, which sample an eclectic array of newer, mostly European artists.
