A6E: 24. PROVENANCE: London, TALKING SHOP: The English darling began to develop a theatrical streak around age 15, when she attended a weekend acting workshop that had a small agency attached. "It's a lovely thing when you're in school, too, because it's kind of like your secret other world that you're doing." BRIGHT FUTURE: Poots cites her "blink and you'll miss it" role in V for Vendetta as her first real acting job. "I dunked my hair in some black hair dye, and they were like, O.K., go play a futuristic lesbian or something! But it was such a treat. I mean, I got to go to Berlin for the weekend." MULTI-TASKER: The actress will embody a range of movie characters in 2014—from an all-American girl in That Awkward Moment, with Zac Efron, to a prostitute in Peter Bogdanovich's Squirrels to the Nuts. She also worked with director Terrence Malick in the upcoming film Knight of Cups. "That sort of filmmaking is desired by many people, and it's difficult to come by now. Thank God he's making movies again!" FAST LANE: Poots takes her busy schedule in stride: "I'm kind of loving going from thing to thing right now. It's a lucky feeling to work on stuff that I actually really love. It's all groovy, so I'm just going to keep on hopping!"
