In "Lysistrata"
Two leading players in the gay and successful play by Aristophanes, now current in New York
The Lysistrata of Aristophanes, skilfully adapted to our less formal times by Mr. Gilbert Seldes, is one of those sensational successes that too infrequently come to the theatre. It is a sprightly story of a little band of Grecian women who decline to bestow their favours upon their warrior husbands until they have extorted the promise that there shall be no more war. Lysistrata, after a crowded five weeks' engagement in Philadelphia, came to continue its highly entertaining career in New York, with a cast including Violet Kemble Cooper and Hortense Alden, besides Miss Hopkins and Mr. Truex presented on these pages —and with music by Leo Ornstein, and settings by Norman Bel-Geddes
