MARISA MELTZER

"WITH LOVE, MARGARET," P. 72

"Margaret Qualley's work has such an unmistakable physicality that I wanted to talk about," says Meltzer, senior staff writer and author of It Girl: The Life and Legacy of Jane Birkin, who profiled Qualley for her first Vanity Fair cover. "I was a kid who took ballet mostly for the outfits, so I was excited to get into her background as a competitive dancer."

JOSÉ CRIALES-

UNZUETA

"FINDING HER LUX," P. 38

From starring in Miss Carbon to being cast in Tom Ford's upcoming him, Lux Pascal has "fascinated" CrialesUnzueta, who profiled her for this issue. "I'm Bolivian and Lux is Chilean, and, as I found out during our very fun interview in Spanglish, we share many cultural nuances," he says.

NICOLAS NIARCHOS

"MINE, ALL MINE," P. 98

While reporting his book, The Elements of Power: A Story of War, Technology, and the Dirtiest Supply Chain on Earth, Niarchos conducted interviews in 16 countries over five years. In 2022 he was detained and "ejected from [the Democratic Republic of the Congo] for looking into links between political power, militia groups, and the mining industry."

KATY GRANNAN

"CENSORI UNCENSORED," P. 90

"Photographing Bianca [Censori] for this issue was a true collaboration with a crew of exceptionally talented people," says Grannan, a photographer and filmmaker whose work is featured in the collections of the Whitney, The Met, and the Guggenheim, among others. "Including Bianca, who came to the set with a super positive, creative, and generous spirit."

TYRELL HAMPTON

"THICK AS THIEVES," P. 106

To photograph Dog Day Afternoon costars Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal, Hampton faced a unique challenge: transforming an Asian restaurant in Brooklyn into a believable Italian bistro. "No one would ever know," he says. "Energy was amazing. I felt like I was a third wheel on their bestie date."

ANNA PEELE

"CENSORI UNCENSORED," P. 90

After eight months of communication, Peele flew to Korea to sit down with Bianca Censori for her first in-depth interview since marrying Ye in 2022. Peele, like everyone else, had a lot of questions: "Why was she always nude? Why didn't she speak? Was she okay? Who Censori was would turn out to be more shocking than showing up naked to the Grammys."

CARLYNE CERF DE DUDZEELE

"WITH LOVE, MARGARET," P. 72

Cerf de Dudzeele is a veteran fashion editor and stylist who has previously held titles at Vogue and French Elle. Styling Margaret Qualley was an experience that, according to Cerf de Dudzeele, produced a harmonious collaboration across the board. "Best day! Best team! Best time!" she says. "Perfection. Vive la Margaret!"

TOM DOTAN

"THE OVERLORD'S UNDERDOG," P. 62

In the lead-up to what Dotan, a longtime media and tech journalist, calls the "defining trial of the AI era," he pored over legal filings and lent a sympathetic ear to lawyers, creators, and media and tech executives."Like the subject of my piece said, if Hollywood is high school with money, then Silicon Valley is high school but with much more money."
